In May of 2011 we experienced a flood at one of our apartment communities in Maumelle, Arkansas. The water intrusion caused significant damage to the community and required sixty apartments to be evacuated. We selected Sharp & Robbins to do the selective demolition and structural drying of the sixty damaged units. The work required them to demo drywall up to four feet in all units, demo related trim, millwork, casework, insulation, interior doors and soft flooring. They performed this tremendous amount of work in a very professional manner and completed it in fourteen days.

Dear Dave Robbins,
My wife and I are the owners of this 10,000 square foot strip center. In late October of 2008 we were fully insured with Travelers insurance company. A fire erupted above the Blockbuster tenant occupying about 6000 feet... on the roof. About three quarters of the entire center was destroyed. This two alarm event was filmed for television and appears on the internet if you Google "Blockbuster Memphis fire." Our family lives out of state in California... far away. We felt totally out of control and frightened, as our loan in excess of one million dollars was secured by a trust deed with recourse to everything we have.
We were facing mortgage payments, insurance and property taxes... in addition to the loss of our regular income upon which we relied to keep food on our table and our children, Adam and Allie in California colleges enrolled in engineering programs. They wanted this education and we wanted desperately to provide this education. Travelers insurance contacted us right away, and I was told I needed to select a builder... to do the clean up, demolition and re-construction work. I called everyone I knew in Memphis, and many builders were calling me. The most highly recommended builder was Sharp & Robbins. I also consulted their website for information. We had earlier experiences with builders, one of these at a liquor store building we were trying to sub-divide into two additional spaces for lease, on the highway in Idyllwild, California. We fully paid the contract pricing but that builder cheated us... did not pay for materials from funds we paid him, and did not finish the tasks detailed in the contract.
Because of that experience and others... my wife Andrea and I wanted to write a letter to help people make the right decision choosing a builder. Sharp & Robbins has performed beyond our expectations. We are far away... so its not as though we were on them, watching and complaining as events unfolded. They complete all of the tasks straight forwardly, promptly without complaining about the myriad of detail that pours into a destroyed site. They know the good sub-contractors and the work is exemplary. I have had inspectors walking the site from the lender, by our Memphis managers, to friendly neighboring owners... and we have been presented pictures by Sharp & Robbins. The tenants who are returning are gleeful, enjoying replaced heat/air units, plumbing, electrical, utilities, roof, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, a refreshed driveway, signage, glass, and doors. All of the little things are smoothly operating and completely finished. I made a deal with Sharp & Robbins to contribute funds toward adding detail we did not have at the pre-fire site. The amount seemed quite reasonable to me. I have just asked if we are 'square' and Dave Robbins of Sharp & Robbins just wrote "yes we are Warren" explaining that "we are accustomed to doing little extras and that goes with the job."
This event has been a miracle for our family. Travelers has fully compensated us for our loss of income per our insurance policy terms, and Sharp & Robbins has provided a fully finished project within the strongly negotiated parameters... dictated by Travelers. Invoices were substantially cut, but Sharp & Robbins never complained and found a way to deliver completely all that was promised. Sharp & Robbins insists that all of the detail they will provide be reduced to writing. But I have never needed to refer to the contract... as there has been nothing to discuss. There is a reason this company is national with 9000 similar jobs in their resume.
Sharp & Robbins has exceeded our expectations, and we will be forever indebted to Dave Robbins representing Sharp & Robbins, Mr. Sharp overseeing their expenditures, Billy... their dedicated superintendent at the site and to the entire office of Sharp & Robbins. I was a lawyer for 35 years but I never engaged in the exchange of contrary thought about the project with anyone at Sharp & Robbins. Thank goodness for I fully grasp the stress impressing upon our well being... from disagreements. I must have written dozens upon dozens of thank you notes to Dave Robbins as the multitudes of transactions were communicated across our emails. Dave kept us fully informed at every juncture. Sharp & Robbins is amazing, for they are absolutely dedicated to making their customer satisfied beyond their expectations.

Dear Dale / Ed,
I wanted to thank you both for your assistance in completing the fire restoration project. It looks great and following the minor punchlist items, we will take procession of the units on Tuesday, April 28. I know both Regina and David are very pleased with the result and that they are ready to have these units occupied again.

It was thought important to share this writers experience with Sharp & Robbins on a recent fire claim. Dave Robbins and Billy Amsden did an excellent job.
